We had planned a road trip to Leh Ladakh via Srinagar and Sonmarg in June 2023. One of our local friend suggested Hotel Sultan for our stay at Sonamarg. The schedule stay was on 15 th of June for which a booking payment was done online. Unfortunately, due to some pressing health issue of one of us, we had to cancel our trip to Leh and prepone our stay to 10-11 th June. The person incharge was kind enough to take our genuine request on phône and considering it ,booked the same. We reached the hotel on 10 th at around 12.30 p.m . The hotel is situated much before Sonamarg . There were only two more rooms occupied that time.. The hotel was spacious. The rooms were good .. So we were about to check in.. when the person at front desk told us that we are booked from 10-15th. So we told them its some confusion and instead of 15 th we had booked for two days that is 10-11.th . After multiple unanswered calls to the person In charge and after waiting for almost two hours, to our utter dismay , we were not allowed to check in. So with no other option left and after frantic calls we left for Sonamarg to find another hotel. We understand the policy of a non refund in case of cancellation, but in a weird situation like this, where we wanted to check in for two days for which advance was paid but were not allowed by hotel authorities, the least that was expected was a refund in good will as we were not allowed to use any facility for which we had paid. 3 weeks since then ...still waiting for a goodwill gesture !

The hotel is good with a nice view, however the food is damn expensive. It's way above than what is expected, though i got discount in buffet. Staff is very helpful and courteous. The resort should actually cut down on food and beverage charges

The property is beautifully located amidst the valley and it allows the visitors to soak in the peace and beauty of the valley. The staff was incredibly hospitable. Would highly recommend this property.

This property commands situational advantage of mountain on one side and a river on the other.The staff are polite and quick in service, particularly Shakir. Food served is delicious. The room amenities may require some improvements.
